Inspire Youth and Family Services is a multidisciplinary organisation, providing youth services to children and young people from birth to 25 years old in South-West Brisbane for more than 30 years.
We are a multi-disciplinary team, which means we can offer a range of supports and therapeutic responses. Some of our specialist areas are educational re-engagement, youth housing and homelessness, and supporting young people in contact with the justice system to reduce their offending behaviours. Our team is highly skilled in brief interventions; things like narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, substance misuse, goal setting, mental health first aid and emotional resilience.
We are continually improving and we are partners for change
We are client-focused, fair, ethical and transparent
We are respectful and build strong relationships with our clients, other organisations and the community
We are inclusive, healthy, safe and fun
Inspire Youth and Family Services (IYS) has had a dynamic history since it first emerged in 1986 as an auspice organisation under the Youth Advocacy Centre Inc. Originally providing temporary three-month housing options for young people and families in the Inala, Durack, and Richlands area. In 1988 it was incorporated as Inala Youth Care Community Inc. and received its first round of government funding in 1990.
Today Inspire Youth and Family Services is a multidisciplinary organisation, providing youth services to children and young people from birth to 25 years old in South-West Brisbane for more than 35 years.
We are passionate about the work that we do to connect disadvantaged, vulnerable and often isolated young people and families to each other and to their local and broader community. Our multi-disciplinary team can offer a range of supports and therapeutic responses, including educational re-engagement, youth housing and homelessness, and supporting young people in contact with the justice system to reduce their offending behaviours. Our team is highly skilled in brief interventions; things like narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, substance misuse, goal setting, mental health first aid and emotional resilience.
“We have accepted, embraced and welcomed our way through the year. We have welcomed new staff and fare welled some others. We have embraced new clients as we celebrated others graduating from our programs. We have welcomed young people into our spaces and created opportunities for them to express themselves and celebrate their uniqueness.
We have cheered hard as some of our clients achieved significant successes and we have also been there as clients went through some incredibly difficult experiences.
This is the foundation of all that we do and who we are as an organisation.”
Darren Frame, CEO of IYS
